The female cat we have been fostering is now ready for a new home. She came to us with two 5 week old kittens and we had been waiting for them to be done nursing before we got her fixed. (We will post an ad for the kittens when they are ready for homes. It will be a few months, because we will get them fixed first, too.) She was spayed on 12/9/08 and is doing well. She was spayed for free, but we also had her tested for feline leukemia (negative) and she received her distemper and rabies shots. We are only charging the $43 we spent on those three things. We will have these records for her new owner.

The SPCA estimated her age at about 3 years and that is what the previous owner told us as well. She is very calm, but unfortunately would probably only do well in a home where she is the only pet. The aggression she has displayed while living with us is probably because she is "protecting" her two kittens, but it is hard to know for sure since we still have her kittens. We have kept her separated from our adult cats and our dogs. We would highly recommend that she does not go to a home with dogs. We have two beagles and she has consistently displayed aggressive behavior towards them, even bridging a gap of 4-5 feet to attack my 20lb beagle. (Although, she probably felt that her kittens were being threatened.) However, she may do okay with other cats, especially younger ones. When we first took her in, she would swat at another kitten we have been fostering. She has been with us for about 6 weeks and now treats that kitten like one of her own. We are willing to do a trial placement period of 2-4 weeks (or a little longer, if necessary) to make sure everything works out for her. She is sweet, but I think she and her kittens went through a lot of changes in homes before they came to us and she has been very protective of them.

Please email us at neolynn@hotmail.com if you have any questions about her or if you are interested in adopting her. She is very sweet and deserves a home where she doesn't have to worry about being moved again.
